We’ve been ruffling feathers in all the best ways this past quarter. As Chickenango continues to serve up design and strategy with extra crispy clarity, we’re bringing you our quarterly update on public engagement, branding efforts, and the magic of partnering with a marketing team that really gets infrastructure.

Public Engagement vs. Public Outreach (aka Information): Why the Difference Matters
In the infrastructure world, the terms Public Engagement and Public Outreach are often tossed around like feed in a henhouse. But at Chickenango, we know there’s a real difference between the two and getting it right matters.
Public Outreach is about broadcasting a message. It’s informative and one-directional, like handing out flyers or setting up a webpage. It says: “Here’s what’s happening.”
Public Engagement, on the other hand, is a two-way cluck track. It involves listening, dialogue, feedback loops, and authentic interaction with communities. It asks: “What do you think?” and then actually responds. Engagement is at the heart of trust, buy-in, and long-term project success, especially for infrastructure that directly impacts communities.
🥚 At Chickenango, we do both to help inform and engage the public on projects that impact their daily lives. Providing engagement strategies that are proactive, participatory, and genuinely people-focused.
Strategic Roosters: The Power of an Outsourced CMO
Our clients are industry leaders in transportation, utilities, and infrastructure. They don’t need fluff, they need fast, strategic marketing leadership that knows how to strut with confidence across government processes, community stakeholders, and complex regulatory timelines.
That’s where our outsourced CMO-as-a-Service offering comes in:
🎯 Strategic planning tailored to sector-specific campaigns
🗺️ Messaging frameworks that bridge technical and public worlds
🤝 A true partnership (not just a vendor transaction)
We’re the ones you call when the team says, “We need a campaign plan that works for our stakeholders, our engineers, and our timelines. Yesterday.”
No need to incubate ideas alone, we’ll bring the eggs, nest, and heat lamp.
What We’ve Been Up To: Mountain Rail Memories
This past quarter, the Chickenango team went full steam ahead with the Mountain Rail Open House. It was a whirlwind of public engagement, rail enthusiasm, and community connection!
Before: We kicked it off with a team dinner that brought all the flavors, ideas, camaraderie, and yes, actual delicious food.
During: Our team was on-site with display materials, talking to residents, collecting feedback, and flapping our way through the crowd with that signature Chickenango charm.
After: We journeyed home tired but fulfilled, our hearts (and suitcases) stuffed with community insights and fresh ideas.
In Closing: Let’s Keep the Cluckversation Going
At Chickenango, we believe infrastructure deserves better stories, and better branding. If you're a public agency, A/E/C firm, or private oil and gas, utility, water company visionary who needs a seasoned team to take your strategy from scratch to stratospheric, we're just a squawk away.
Let’s hatch something great together.
